Turkcell prepping for 5G with Netcracker’s OSS

Turkcell has completed the next phase of its OSS transformation using Netcracker’s suite of solutions.

The milestone is part of an ongoing engagement that will provide Turkcell with a critical, end-to-end view of its network as it begins providing 5G and advanced digital services with digital twin network capabilities.

Previously, Netcracker has worked with Turkcell to deploy IP/MPLS networks, broadband aggregation networks and GPONs across physical and service layers while enabling FTTB (fibre-to-the-building) network deployment and CRM integration.

This most recent phase encompasses several new enhancements such as network inventory management, migration of network resources for residential customer services from legacy inventory management systems, auto-discovery, and reconciliation. It also includes the creation of a joint delivery team to implement change requests based on network improvement and growth using Agile methodology.

As a result, Turkcell will be able to improve service continuity and quality through increased insight into its network, thereby preventing service outages and significantly streamlining the installation, support and cancellation processes. The upgrades will also enable Turkcell to automate operations and planning, allowing for more efficient resource utilisation in response to specific events and alarms.

“Both our business operations and the end customer will greatly benefit from the latest deployment phase,” said Kerem Kiziltunc, Director at Turkcell. “Our investments in a new user interface and streamlined service fulfillment process will allow us to decommission legacy systems faster.”
