A year on from its acquisition of Orange Niger, Zamani Com has now rebranded the unit to Zamani Telecom.
Orange Group divested its entire 95.5% stake in Orange Niger to its minority shareholders Mohamed Rissa and Moctar Thiam – the joint owners of Zamani Com – in November 2019.
Since the sale, the operator has invested more than XOF40 billion (US$74.6 million) into its networks and services, according to claims from its managing director Souleymane Diallo.
According to TeleGeography, Zamani Telecom is looking to boost its rural coverage, including the launch of a nationwide 3.5G offering to supplement its LTE-A services in the cities of Niamey and Diffa.
