China Telecom deploys ZTE's core router

Chinese state-owned telecommunication company China Telecom and ZTE Corporation have successfully deployed ZTE's core router ZXR10 T8000 in China Telecom's IP MAN in Hunan, a mountainous province in southern China.

According to a press release from the international provider of telecommunications, enterprise, and consumer technology solutions for the mobile internet, during the epidemic, the two parties jointly set up an expert team and had completed the equipment deployment, cutover, and provisioning on two nodes as scheduled in late March and early April in 2021, satisfying China Telecom's service demands.

"The ZXR10 T8000 is ZTE's high-end flagship router. It has been running stably for over 10 years in the core router scenario in China, and has been deployed in 23 provinces (including autonomous regions and municipalities) in China," the release said.

In the first core routing/switching devices centralized procurement after unified negotiation and contract signing of China Telecom in 2019, the ZTE ZXR10 T8000 won the biggest share in both single and cluster sections, it added.

Riding the wave of large-scale 5G deployment, China Telecom has been following the development trend of cloud and network convergence and adhering to the network construction guide of taking the network as the basis and the cloud as the core said the press release.

"As the pioneer in 5G network construction, ZTE has been one of the most important partners in China Telecom's 5G network construction," it claimed.
