Venezuelan mobile operator Digitel has signed an agreement with Optiva for a multi-year support renewal and upgrade of its online charging system.
Digitel plans to leverage the system upgrade and next-generation convergent platform to introduce new service offerings to its customers going forward. The future and long-term growth for new revenue streams will be focused on areas that include VoLTE, 5G and IoT.
The operator’s stated goals include investing in innovation in the telecoms sector in a bid to strengthen social development in Venezuela. Digitel was the first mobile provider to offer a 4G/LTE network in the market.
