Vodafone Oman commemorated the official launch of its operations on Sunday (March 6) at the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM).
In his speech during the ceremony, Bader al Zidi, CEO of Vodafone in Oman said the launch of Vodafone in Oman would mark a revolution in the technology sector. "We will do things differently and digitally from the start and, we are exactly that different and we are truly digital,” he claimed.
"We strive to be a major contributor to enhancing the in-country value, whether by enhancing the percentage of national competencies in our local team, which today reaches 95% or by providing work contracts to local Omani companies that are leading in their field of various sizes," Bader said.
According to local media reports, Vodafone launched its operations with the opening of its Experience Hub in the Mall of Oman, late last year, alongside an exclusive launch offer for its subscribers. Customers looking to join the Vodafone network can simply register and receive the service, quickly and easily.
Jan Holzberg, commercial director of Vodafone Oman claimed that the operator received tens of thousands of download requests during the first initial days of the offer. "This is a positive indicator for the future of Vodafone and we look forward to providing a state-of-the-art and digitalised experience for telecommunication subscribers here in Oman, in the upcoming period,” Jan added.
