Dito looks to post-paid and enterprise for growth

Dito Telecommunity is banking on the launch of post-paid mobile plans and entry into enterprise this year for growth this year.

Business Inquirer reported, chief administrative officer Adel Tamano said there had been robust demands for those services and forecasted they will boost customer numbers. The operator previously stated an aim of reaching 15 million customers this year, it hit 12 million in November 2022.

The products will appeal to customers through affordable pricing said Tamano, prices can be set at a competitive level due to the operator’s efficient and modern technology. The company s currently in the process of streamlining technology and commercial support of its new products.

The executive said the Philippines’ third largest operator by subscribers has a “very bright future” as infrastructure plans are still on the go, despite being miles behind incumbent duo Globe and Smart.

“We have commitments in terms of population coverage, in terms of speed. In fact, we even indicated how much money we are going to put into setting up our network,” he said.

Dito pledged to spend PHP27 billion (US$487m) on its network this year, by the end of 2023 the company will spend a projected total of PHP230 billion as it strives to meet coverage targets since gaining its licence in 2019. Currently, Dito’s network covers 78% and the target is 80% by year’s end.

Tamano also revealed the company had registered 40% of SIM cards from its subscriber base which equates to 6 million.
