Veon’s Jazz launches ROX brand for Pakistan’s digital natives

Global digital operator Veon announced on Tuesday that its digital operator in Pakistan, Jazz, has launched a new mobile service brand called ROX that targets digital natives with an “integrated lifestyle experience”.

ROX will provide a range of bundled digital lifestyle services through a dedicated mobile app. The bundles include existing Jazz services such as its “Tamasha” streaming app, GameNow and music app Bajao, as well as food delivery, ride hailing, a discount aggregator and ticket booking offered by Jazz partners.

Veon Group CEO Kaan Terzioglu said the ROX brand was created to target “digital-first” users, which is a huge demographic in Pakistan.

"In Pakistan, with 64% of the population under the age of 30, there is a significant demand for digital-first experiences,” he said. “With Jazz’s wide portfolio of digital services and experience in providing a seamless digital experience to our customers, and with the learnings in our Group based on the success of other digital-first brands, we are confident that we are uniquely positioned to meet this demand.”

Veon has also launched digital-operator brands via mobile operators Beeline Kazakhstan and Beeline Uzbekistan.

Veon said Beeline Kazakhstan’s IZI has over 500,000 monthly active users (MAUs), while  Beeline Uzbekistan’s OQ – launched in October 2023 – had gained 177,000 MAUs by December 31.
