Orange launches youth training programme in MEA

Orange and online learning company Coursera are launching a free certification training programme for young people in Africa and the Middle East, to provide them with key skills in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital marketing, and entrepreneurship.

The programme will run through the Orange Digital Center network which comprises of 16 centres across the region, where the operator’s development unit will host coding schools and start-up accelerators.

The centres will have the latest technologies to “support young people throughout the entire technological innovation and entrepreneurship value chain”. 

Orange said the programmes are designed to train talent to suit a shifting job market that require skills in the latest technolgies. 

Asma Ennaifer, Orange MEA executive director of corporate social responsibility said: “At Orange, we firmly believe that digital inclusion is the key to creating a fairer and more prosperous future for everyone. In partnership with Coursera and through the Orange Digital Centers, we are opening the doors of certification training to all our beneficiaries, offering educational and professional development opportunities to those who need them most. “
