Perfectum selects Qvantel and Nokia to monetise 5G SA

Uzbekistani operator Perfectum will use solutions from Qvantel to help monetise the 5G SA network that it is deploying in the market.

Last week, the operator announced that it plans to deploy Central Asia’s first 5G SA (standalone) network using equipment from Nokia. Qvantel is a longtime partner of Nokia and will cooperate with the vendor as it deploys its Qvantel Flex BSS solution for Perfectum.

Perfectum’s investment in 5G SA is aimed at expanding connectivity in Uzbekistan and fostering a digital ecosystem in the market, enabling new opportunities in remote working, telemedicine and smart city initiatives.

“5G SA will enable Perfectum to offer differentiated services that will deliver meaningful change to consumers and businesses in Uzbekistan,” said Dmitry Shukov, CEO of Perfectum. “As well as having the fast network it’s important that our business can support all the new opportunities that 5G can deliver.”

“Perfectum has a great opportunity to open up new markets and deliver new services and experiences to consumers and businesses,” said Varun Galande, CCO of Qvantel. “The no/low code design of Qvantel Flex BSS will allow Perfectum to rapidly develop new offers and deliver the best customer experience possible and so provide the ideal platform for growth.”

Erez Sverdlov, Vice President, Cloud and Network Services Market Leader, Europe at Nokia, added: “Delivering innovative 5G customer offerings, like network slicing, securely, at scale, and with advanced operational efficiencies can only be done through 5G SA and new monetisation models.”
