Cairo-based AI developer WideBot announced on Tuesday that state-owned Libyan telco Almadar Aljadid will adopt its Arabic conversational AI chatbot platform to improve customer service.
Under a strategic collaboration agreement, Almadar will use WideBot’s AI platform to create a AI-powered virtual assistant capable of communicating with customers in Arabic, English, and the Libyan dialect.
WideBot said in a press statement that the multilingual chatbot enhances Almadar’s customer experience by providing personalized and timely responses to inquiries via Messenger and web chat.
This in turn is expected to increase customer satisfaction and fuel the growth of Almadar's customer base, especially following its recent launch of 3G and 4G mobile services in most Libyan cities. It will also help Almadar to launch new services in the future, WideBot said.
Almadar CEO Bassam Tunis said the collaboration marks a significant development in Libya's telecoms sector by embracing the prominent potential of AI.
"This partnership reflects Almadar's vision to provide exceptional and innovative services, supporting our expansion and reinforcing our position as a leading telecommunications provider in Libya and North Africa,” he said in a statement.
WideBot says its chatbot platform has logged over a billion conversations and serves more than 80 million customers across the MENA region. The company itself boasts a client base of over 35,000 customers and a market presence in more than 45 countries.
