Bharti Airtel signed a long-term agreement with Google Cloud to deliver cloud and gen AI solutions in the Indian B2B market.
In a statement, Airtel detailed that it will offer a suite of cloud solutions from Google to “fast-track” the adoption of cloud technology by Airtel customers, which comprises of over 2,000 large enterprises and a million emerging businesses.
According to IDC the Indian public cloud services market is expected to reach US$17.8 billion by 2027, a market Airtel is targeting with this partnership.
The two companies will develop AI and machine learning solutions that Airtel will train on its large data set – this will lead to geospatial analytics solutions equipped with location intelligence for trend-spotting, predictive capabilities, market assessment, site selection, risk management, and asset tracking.
Additionally Airtel developed an end-to-end IoT solution designed for the utility sector that combines connectivity, Google Cloud services, and application software under one offering.
Airtel will also tap into Google Cloud’s gen AI capabilities to upgrade its customer experience and interactions across mobile broadband and digital TV. This will also extend to B2B customers in India and globally, but the operator did not state a timeline.
Gopal Vittal, MD & CEO, Bharti Airtel, said: “As India accelerates its digital transformation, cutting-edge cloud and AI solutions will be at the heart and centre of this change. We are happy to partner with Google Cloud and jointly address this market opportunity with secure and scalable Cloud solutions for government, enterprises, and emerging businesses. Together, we will also accelerate the deployment of gen AI in the country and unlock its potential to solve problems.”
