Vietnam mobile download speed increases 40%

The Vietnam Internet Network Information Center (VNNIC) announced Vietnam’s national average mobile data speed increased 40% from 38.69Mbps in March to 54.34Mbps in July.

The VNNIC reported the data stemmed from its internet speed measuring system I-Speed. The average upload speed for mobile broadband was 21.19Mbps with little change in the same period.

The I-Speed tracker found in June the average download speed was 52.4Mbps, showing little change on a quarter-to-quarter basis.

State-owned operator Viettel was ranked first in mobile speed in July followed by Vinaphone (VNPT), MobiFone, and Vietnamobile. Their data speeds were not detailed.

In fixed broadband Viettel also led for best speed followed by FPT Telecom, VNPT, CMC Telecom, SCTV, and Netnam.
