Hungary-based 4iG Group received backing from the North Macedonian government to launch its operations in the country, edging the operator closer to a commercial launch in the Western Balkan nation.
In a statement, 4iG detailed the two parties signed a MoU to “set the foundation for long-term cooperation” and outline the opportunities that lie for 4iG in North Macedonia.
The agreement was signed by Aleksandar Nikoloski (right), Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Minister of Transport and Communications, and Gellért Jászai (left), Chairman of 4iG Group.
The document showed several joint commitments; improve customer experience with state-of-the-art mobile and broadband technologies; invest in 5G, IoT and other cutting edge technologies that adhere to the government’s ‘Clean Network’ initiative; and minimise environmental impact and support the green initiatives of North Macedonia, as well as stimulate technological development and entrepreneurship in partnership with local economic actors.
