Nokia announced Team Telecom Armenia deployed its fibre solution to deliver faster internet speeds to enterprises in the Central Asian nation.
In a statement, the Finnish vendor said that Team Telecom Armenia is using its 25G PON fibre solution enabling the first operator to provide B2B subscribers with 20 Gbps symmetrical speeds that are crucial of emerging applications and business services that drive the digital economy in the Caucasus and Central Asia.
The solution also enables the operator to reuse existing fibre broadband equipment to address demand for more capacity and enhanced broadband services. It also opens the door for new enhanced services such as enterprise solutions, 5G mobile transport and network wholesaling.
Currently Nokia’s 25G PON technology connects around 300,000 premises in Armenia and construction is still underway to expand to more sites.
