Digicel Fiji joins the country’s Starlink reseller club

The market for Starlink’s LEO satellite services in Fiji is getting more competitive as Digicel Fiji began offering Starlink services for its enterprise customers on Tuesday, just two months after rival telco Telecom Fiji did likewise.

Digicel Fiji said its new Digicel Pacific Starlink Enterprise Internet offering will now be included in its enterprise solutions portfolio. Digicel Fiji is offering the service via a reseller agreement between Starlink and Digicel’s parent company Telstra.

Digicel Fiji CEO Farid Mohammed said its Starlink internet plans are tailored to meet the diverse needs of its enterprise customers.”

“Our team has been actively testing Starlink’s service in the field to determine the best way to offer it to our enterprise customers,” he said in a statement. “The results show it’s a great option for businesses that need reliable internet outside of traditional coverage areas.”

The new offering makes Digicel Fiji the third service provider to resell Starlink services since the LEO satellite service officially went live across the archipelago in May.

Telecom Fiji signed a reseller agreement with Starlink in July. While the telco intends to sell the service to a wider range of customers, including rural communities, schools, health centres, and government departments, its initial focus has been on the enterprise segment.

Earlier the same month, managed services provider Lightspeed Pacific landed its own reseller deal with Starlink, which it is pitching to local shipping and tourism operators.
