South African operator deploys new solution to facilitate service rollout

The South African operator Cell C has deployed a new solution to allow it focus its resources on rolling out and delivering compelling services and experiences for its customers.

The NGBSS solution, provided by Huawei, allows Cell C the capabilities to generate accurate and real-time usage data for its postpaid, prepaid and hybrid services and offer a single bill for all services. This enables the operator to shorten its time to market, increase cost efficiency, and enhance customer experience.

The firm’s CTO and software VP Dr. Haiping Che heralded the deployment as “a key milestone in Cell C’s and Huawei’s strong partnership”, adding that “[Huawei is] committed to the continued support of Cell C’s strategic transformation with our leading edge solutions, customer-centric approach, and advanced deployment methodology.”

South Africa is an increasingly competitive market that is driven by service convergence and rising customer sophistication. The solution has been implemented based on the application of industry best practices including customer relationship management (CRM), IP contact centre (IPCC), convergent billing system (CBS), partner relationship management (PRM), and mediation and provisioning.
