Telecom Argentina has signed a deal with Nokia allowing it to offer IoT services to its enterprise customers in the country and across Latin America using Nokia Worldwide IoT Network Grid (WING).
The agreement comes as Telecom Argentina prepares to offer a scalable onboarding process for all its IoT customers, operating in different business models. The operator is the first firm in Argentina to deliver enterprise IoT as a managed service via Nokia’s WING infrastructure.
According to GSMA, the number of IoT connections will reach 25 billion worldwide until 2025. Latin American IoT revenue is expected to top US$47 billion in the same year. While IoT rapidly advances consumer markets and smart homes, the segment of Industrial IoT will be the biggest source of growth for connections in the future.
Incremental services such as connectivity and device management will assist Telecom Argentina to create value-added opportunities in today’s network and the 5G era to come. Nokia’s IMPACT platform will provide device management functionality as part of the overall WING solution.
